Case studies

Deep dives into selected projects- the who, what, where and why of Verterra’s biggest ventures.

  • Fitzroy Water Quality Project- Montevideo

By undertaking forage budgeting, matching stocking rates to long-term carrying capacity, and installing new infrastructure to make better use of under-utilised pastures, the Lawries have now been able to focus on improving the quality of their vegetation, weed management, and improving soil management.

  • Fitzroy Water Quality Project- Moonkan Park

Matt and Kristie Lisle were the first landholders engaged by Verterra within the Fitzroy Water Quality Program. Moonkan Park is the perfect example of what can be achieved in a relatively short period of time.

  • Fitzroy Water Quality Project- Calliweera

The Warnock’s combined their engagement in the Fitroy Water Quality Project with a registered soil carbon project, creating a lasting legacy for grazing improvement, and targeting multiple threats to the reef, carbon emissions plus water quality.

  • Fitzroy Water Quality Project- Towarra

Gordon and Wayne, 4th and 5th generation graziers on their land, saw the project as an opportunity to improve their grazing practices, while making a positive impact on the reef.
